Clinical Expertise

Dr. William Evans is an oculofacial plastic and orbital reconstructive surgeon specializing in the surgical and non-surgical management of conditions affecting the eyelids, eyebrows, orbit, lacrimal system, and surrounding structures of the eye and face. His clinical interests include functional and aesthetic eyelid surgery, orbital reconstruction, eyelid and orbital tumors, lacrimal disorders, periocular reconstruction, and the functional and cosmetic use of botulinum toxin. He has a particular interest in primary and revision eyelid surgery, including reconstruction following prior surgery, trauma, or cancer removal.

Dr. Evans takes an individualized, patient-centered approach to care with an emphasis on careful surgical planning and attention to detail. He works collaboratively with each patient to understand their concerns and goals, developing an individualized treatment plan that reflects their unique anatomy and needs. His practice incorporates contemporary surgical techniques and evidence based care, with particular emphasis on achieving natural results while preserving each patient’s unique features.

Education and Medical Training

Dr. Evans completed his Oculofacial Plastic and Orbital Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, consistently ranked the nation’s #1 eye hospital. He previously completed an Ocular Oncology Fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Dr. Evans completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the Hamilton Eye Institute following an Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Dr. Evans earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2019. Prior to medical school, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Biomedical Engineering, graduating summa cum laude from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University where he was also a recipient of the Moeur Award for academic achievement.

Dr. Evans is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Evans has been recognized for his medical achievement, research, and leadership.

Personal Interests

Dr. Evans has a longstanding interest in serving underserved populations and participating in humanitarian medical outreach both locally and abroad. His experiences have included medical missions in Nepal, oculofacial plastic surgery missions in Guatemala, and organizing free cataract surgery for uninsured patients in Tennessee.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Evans enjoys escaping to the mountains to hike and ski. He enjoys scuba diving and is a passionate soccer fan and amateur player.
