With eyelid surgery, Dr. Zachary Berbos can help you attain your goals with beautiful, natural-looking results.
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic enhancement procedure that can rejuvenate the areas around your eyes and address a number of common aesthetic issues. Benefits of eyelid surgery include:
Dr. Berbos will be happy to meet with you for an initial consultation to discuss all aspects of eyelid surgery. At this meeting, Dr. Berbos can help you decide if this procedure is the right option for your needs.
Eyelid surgery can be performed in the upper and/or lower eyelid areas, depending on your ultimate goals.
Upper eyelid surgery can help patients who are experiencing obstructed vision from lax, sagging skin above the eyelids. If excess skin or drooping eyelids obstructs part of your visual field (typically above and to the sides), your insurance will likely cover the cost of eyelid surgery. This procedure can also be beneficial for patients affected by signs of age and fatigue in these areas. Dr. Berbos will remove the excess skin and tighten the remainder of the eyelid and cheek tissues for a smoother, more youthful appearance. Incisions are made in the creases of the upper eyelids, so any residual scarring should be virtually unnoticeable.
Lower eyelid surgery can be performed to diminish undereye bags and puffiness. A small incision is discreetly made on the back side (pink part) of the eyelid, allowing Dr. Berbos to remove excess fat, skin, and muscle without any visible incision or scar. If required, skin will be pulled taut for a much smoother and rested appearance.
Depending on the extent of treatment, eyelid surgery typically takes about one to two hours to complete and can be performed on an outpatient basis.
