iDose® TR
Fewer drops. More control. Sustained eye pressure management.
What is iDose® TR?
iDose® TR is a micro, FDA-approved intracameral implant that continuously releases a targeted dose of medication directly inside your eye for up to 4 years. Unlike eye drops that rely on patient compliance, iDose TR delivers steady pressure control 24/7—simplifying your routine and reducing vision-threatening fluctuations.

Follow-up
Not all patients are candidates for iDose. Only an eye care professional can diagnose glaucoma and recommend appropriate treatment. Individual results vary. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and attend scheduled follow-ups. iDose may help reduce the number of daily drops for many patients but does not eliminate drop use for everyone.
Is iDose® TR right for me?
You may be a candidate if you:
- Have open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension
- Struggle with drop side effects, adherence, or complex regimens
- Need more consistent pressure control
- Want a long-acting option that may mean significantly fewer drops
Your eye surgeon will consider glaucoma type, optic nerve status, target pressure, prior surgeries, current meds, and overall health before recommending a plan.
How iDose® TR Compares to Other Glaucoma Treatments
Daily Eye Drops
Daily use of medicated drops lowers eye pressure.
Pros: Widely available, non-surgical, customizable combinations.
Cons: Difficult for many patients to remember consistently, may cause burning, redness, or systemic side effects. Non-adherence is one of the leading causes of glaucoma progression.
Laser Therapy (SLT – Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty)
Uses laser energy to improve fluid drainage in the eye.
Pros: Quick, in-office procedure; can delay or reduce the need for drops.
Cons: Results may wear off over time; some patients still require drops or repeat treatments.
Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)
Small surgical implants or procedures improve eye fluid outflow.
Pros: Can be done with cataract surgery; effective for certain glaucoma stages.
Cons: Typically suited for mild to moderate glaucoma; still evolving in long-term outcomes.
iDose® TR (Sustained-Release Implant)
A tiny implant placed inside the eye releases medication continuously over months to years, reducing IOP without daily drops.
Pros: Long-term, consistent drug delivery; reduces or eliminates the need for drops; bypasses adherence issues; can be replaced when needed.
Cons: Requires a quick, in-office procedure; as with all implants, carries a small risk of surgical complications.
