Originally from Australia, Dr. Mudie completed her undergraduate education and medical degree at the University of Queensland. She later moved to the U.S., earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. There, she was honored as the Dana Center for Preventive Ophthalmology Student of the Year for her work in refractive error, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma research through the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.

Her postgraduate medical training includes:

  • Internal Medicine Internship – Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans, LA
  • Fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery – Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX

She was recognized as a COVID-19 Champion during her residency and received the Stuart & Ellie Fine Endowed Resident Research Award. Her fellowship accolades include the Eyewiki Residents & Fellows Award and the Samuel Stahl Research Award from Texas Children’s Hospital. She also earned a prestigious American Academy of Ophthalmology Green Grant for advancing sustainability in oculoplastic surgery.
