His clinical expertise also includes functional eyelid surgery, glaucoma treatment and surgery, medical retina care, and a variety of laser-based procedures.

With nearly seven years at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Dr. Kamat gained extensive experience in complex cataract cases, oculoplastic trauma, and anterior segment surgery. He is known for his precision, patient-centered approach, and dedication to delivering excellent outcomes.

Education and Medical Training

A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Kamat earned both a B.S. in Premedicine and an M.S. in Physiology from Pennsylvania State University. During that time, he taught Anatomy and Physiology at Penn State and Widener University. He went on to receive his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

Dr. Kamat completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He also worked as a clinical instructor at the prestigious Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
