John D. Knippers, MD

Dr. John Knippers provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, including cataract surgery and glaucoma diagnosis and management. He was born in Boise, Idaho, and raised in Portland, Oregon. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his internship at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis., and his residency program at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Knippers is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and has been called upon to share his expertise by speaking to groups of ophthalmologists on topics such as ocular trauma.
Dr. Knippers lives in Pinetop with his wife and four children. In addition to enjoying time with his family, he likes outdoor activities, including hiking and skiing. He has also traveled to Mexico to provide surgical care to those in need.
