Shivi Agrawal, MD graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor in Science in Natural Sciences and a Minor in chemistry at the University of Akron in Ohio. She then received her Medical Degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2010. During medical school, she completed a prestigious research fellowship at Massachusetts’s Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School. She subsequently completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Arizona during which she was given the honor of being chief resident. She joins us after completing a Corneal and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at Price Vision Group in Indianapolis, IN.
Dr. Agrawal is a board eligible Ophthalmologist with the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is experienced in cataract surgery (clear lens exchanges, astigmatism management), refractive vision correction (LASIK, PRK, and ICL), corneal transplants (PKP, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK), laser assisted corneal transplants and keratoconus management (corneal crosslinking, Intacs). She has published many book chapters, peer reviewed articles and presented at numerous national meetings. Dr. Agrawal speaks fluent Hindi and English. During her training, Dr. Agrawal founded an organization entitled Envision: 20/20 by 2020 with the aim of eliminating preventable blindness in Bardwani, India. Through this organization, a vitamin A supplementation program was created an over 10,000 patients have been screened and provided with medical and surgical care at Saraswati Eye Hospital. She is presently building an infrastructure to teach and provide corneal transplants to this region.
