Please Help Us Welcome Hema Sugumaran, MD To Our Practice

sugumaranDr. Hema Sugumaran provides comprehensive eye care with an emphasis on the medical management of glaucoma. An important part of her approach to helping patients is making sure they are well-informed, especially in regard to preventive health care and the treatment plans she recommends.

Dr. Sugumaran received her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2007, broadened her expertise by completing a clinical research fellowship with the LuEsther T. Mertz Retinal Research Laboratory, Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital, in New York. She subsequently completed a residency in ophthalmology at Hofstra North Shore-Long Island Jewish School of Medicine in Great Neck, N.Y. In the final year of her residency, she held the position of Chief Resident.

She began seeing patients on November 1st, working just a few days a week and will be very instrumental in alleviating some of the demand, currently, for MD only and Glaucoma consults in the Metro Valley.
