Dr. Tysen Bringhurst is an optometrist serving Barnet Dulaney Perkins locations across the Valley. Growing up, Dr. Bringhurst moved around often while his father was in the Air Force, living in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and Alaska. He went to the University of Alaska Anchorage to begin his undergraduate degree and then transferred to BYU – Idaho to finish his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then received his optometry degree from the Arizona College of Optometry.
Prior to joining Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center, Dr. Bringhurst performed clinical externships at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital where he served the Native American population there and gained experience managing Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy. He also rotated through Accent Eye Care in Phoenix and finally at Barnet Dulaney Perkins in Phoenix, where he gained experience in pre and post-operative care, as well as the management of ocular diseases.
Dr. Bringhurst is a member of the Arizona Optometric Association (AZOA). As a student of AZCOPT, one of his posters was accepted into the American Academy of Optometry for presentation.
In his free time, Dr. Bringhurst enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and visiting family every year in Alaska. He also loves outdoor activities like golfing, traveling, and hiking.
