Stroll among juried, fine art, premium wines to the tune of live musicians with the world’s fourth-largest fountain spouting majestically in the background. This is the perfect spring event in AZ – it’s a beautiful location, free – and did we mention wine? It takes place at 16810 Avenue of the Fountains in downtown Fountain Hills.

4. Phoenix Pride Festival, April 1 – 2

The Phoenix Pride Festival offers the opportunity to show your gay pride or your support of the LBGT community by taking part in the Arizona festival at Steele Indian School Park in downtown Phoenix or cheer on the parade that takes place on April 2.

5. Arizona Bike Week, April 5 – 9

Motorcycle events take place across the Valley, but most the activity is centered at WestWorld in Scottsdale, with nightly concerts and informational events that share what’s going on in the motorcycling world while the latest custom designs are on display.

6. Spring Butterfly Exhibit, Desert Botanical Gardens, through May 10

The Desert Botanical Gardens sets hearts and imaginations flying at the Spring Butterfly Exhibit to the Marshall Butterfly Pavilion. Visitors are surrounded by colorful, gently fluttering wings as they walk through the pavilion’s beautiful gardens and observe butterflies interacting with lovely garden surroundings. 7. 12th Annual Arizona Dragon Boat Festival, March 28 – 29

The Arizona Dragon Boat Festival takes place at Tempe Town Lake, bringing men’s, women’s and junior’s Dragon Boat racing teams from around the world to compete. Spectators can cheer their favorite team or boat, and enjoy the Asian and Pacific-style food and entertainment at this free event. This Arizona festival rivals a Game of Thrones’ set by bringing together an amazing collection winged beasts!

8. Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market, May 2 – 3

Antique shoppers will want to be at WestWorld of Scottsdale to rummage through 170 vendors’ wares that include rustic and retro home furnishings and fashions. This is one of the largest vintage festivals in Arizona and costs just $5.00 for general admission.

9. Ignite Phoenix, May 9, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

This is the 17th Ignite Phoenix, featuring 20 speakers who have five minutes and 20 slides to talk about a topic that they are passionate about. Past presentations have featured topics such as wabi-sabi, which wine pairs best with books, how to RSVP to an execution and why Cos-Play matters. This event sells out nearly every year, so check the Scottsdale Center for the Arts’ website in early April for the opportunity to purchase tickets at $15.

10. Spring Restaurant Week, May 19 – 28

This statewide event in AZ offers a variety of dining options, from eclectic to the five-star dining to international choices, giving foodies the opportunity to sample quality menus for $33 to $44 for a three-course meal.
